It’s school holiday time at the moment. Summer has turned to autumn, and our past times have changed from frequenting the beach, to fires and card games with the kids. We decide to book a weekend up in the native bush an hour from Wellington to Larry ‘s lodge “Antler Lodge”
As a little boy Larry planted the pine trees that, as a 40 year old, he milled to build his lodge. Talk about talented. Here in Antler lodge there are a lot of….. antlers!!!!!!
They hang from the ceiling, hold candles, are cooking utensils and create a safety fence around the mezzanine where there is a double bed. Animal heads hang from the wall and other collectables are everywhere. I love how being in the lodge makes me feel like I know Larry. His personality and what he likes is visible throughout the lodge.
